They had hoped to make their mark by sharing cooking tips and the sort of wisdom that comes with age, but that wasn't what catapulted Mary Bartnicki, Josie Cavaluzzi and Terry Dahlquist to fame.
Instead, the senior sisters found their place in the spotlight when a clip of them watching another memorable video -- Kim Kardashian's sex tape -- went viral.
"She got famous doing it, and we got famous watching it," Cavaluzzi, 74, explained during a Tuesday morning visit to TODAY.
Now the trio star in their own reality show, "Golden Sisters."
"We were shocked!" 82-year-old Bartnicki said.
"We had no idea it would evolve into something so big like this," Cavaluzzi agreed, adding that even when they were told of their initial success, she didn't understand it. "(The now-producer of our show) called us and said, 'Oh my God, you guys are viral!' And I said, 'Viral? What's that?' I didn't even know what it meant."
All of them understand it now, especially since their fans include Kardashian herself.
"(Kim) says I'm Khloe," Bartnicki said a smile.
"I'm Kim!" twins Cavaluzzi and Dahlquist both claimed.
After some friendly sibling bickering, Bartnicki insisted, "(Terry's) Kourtney."
See more from the gals on their show. "Golden Sisters" Saturdays at 10 p.m. on OWN.
