HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (AP) ? A Southern California beach town is sloshing through another day of minor flooding because of a so-called king tide.
TV news reports show ankle-deep water on some streets in Sunset Beach near Huntington Harbour shortly after high tide hit at around 9 a.m. Friday. One lane of Pacific Coast Highway is closed.
However, no homes are flooded and there are no major traffic tie-ups in the Orange County area.
Astronomical conjunctions caused the highest tide of the season on Thursday, drawing water up several feet higher than usual, with a slightly lesser tide on Friday.
